Carry Limit Quandary

Any other schmucks walk with their spoils dragging them to a crawl because they didn't want to drop anything? I left my companion in town to run a quick errand and got sidetracked into a quest... Next thing, my greedy Argonian is trying to drag back the heavy armor loot to enchant/ sell. I know there are better ways but sometimes you gotta pay the price.
