Looking to join the family and buy a 2017 Impreza Sport Hatchback, but I'm not a car person. What makes a Subaru the best?

Hi everyone!

I've been lurking on this sub for quite some time. In the market to purchase my first NEW car and am looking to get a 2017 Impreza Hatchback in black with the Eyesight package. Located in NJ. The reason I am going Subaru is reliability - I want a car that will last 10+ years and that sweet AWD.

Any insight about buying this car or buying a Subaru in general? I've heard that Subaru's aren't the most negotiable due to their reputation. I've been reading about Subaru Ambassadors too...do people really give those coupons out?
