People in the void

I see lots of videos of how many people landed in the void when the Aurora crash landed. Is there any reason that the flotation devices on those pods wouldn’t activate. I mean even though there are ones that sank. It’s extremely likely that there’s just one or two pods on the other side of the world just floating.
