Just starting the Sopranos

I just started the Sopranos and I’m on episode 8 of season 1. I’ll be honest, it’s starting off a little slow, at least for my taste. I’m waiting to see more people get whacked and for the plot to thicken more. When does it start to pick up more with intense drama and action?
