You should need professional driving lessons before you're allowed to take your test.

Not sure how it is internationally, but in Australia you don't need professional driving lessons to go for your driving test. You only need 50-100 hours of driving* with someone who has had their license for 5 years.

I think that's BS. I did ~30 hours of lessons with my parents and ~20 hours with a professional instructor and he told me that there were many rules that my parents weren't following**. Which is why professional drivers should be mandatory.

*depending on your age, the law was changed a few years ago, so people born after 2006 need to do 100 hours, but people born before 2006 only have to do 50.
