housing for after freshman year??

Im a freshman right now and I have no idea what to do for housing next year. What happens if I apply for housing but don't get it and its too late to lease an apartment? What are the chances of getting a dorm as a sophomore? Apartments are so expensive too and if I don't get financial aid anymore because of living off campus idk how ill do it. someone please give me some advice🥲
