considering a weekday wedding, thoughts?
Hey all, I have a dilemma regarding when our wedding should take place. I’ve fallen in love with a particular venue but for non-Winter weekend weddings they require a 3-day hire of the venue which totals $28,600 (all prices in Australian dollars!). Weddings during Winter or mid-week are $17,600 for 2-day hire. For single-day hire on Monday/Thursday (not including accomodation) it is $6,050. These prices are for dry hire of the venue only. Our budget is around 40k but willing to stretch to 50k.
My fiancé and I are heavily considering doing a mid-week wedding due to the differences in price as well as not requiring 3 days of hire. However, I’ve done a little research and apparently some guests consider it rude/selfish to ask people to use their PTO to attend a wedding. I wanted to get some thoughts from people here.
Our guest list right now is at 67, the large majority of guests live within a 2.5-hour drive of the venue. We are Australian so everyone has a minimum of 4 weeks paid annual leave, while some have up to 6 weeks depending on their workplace. Would it be too much of an ask to have a weekday wedding in these circumstances?

ETA: We would also consider doing a weekend wedding during Winter but are concerned about how cold it will be as the venue is outside.
