Moving from Phoenix any advice?

I’m looking at fond du lac… I’m 31 and a single guy who likes to kayak and fish. I can basically pick anywhere in the state and I chose FDL cause it’s slightly closer to Milwaukee than Oshkosh or Appleton. I have family in Hartford and Richfield. Am I making a mistake? What challenges don’t I expect?
